Mkvtoolnix gui is cross platform and available for apple mac, linux, microsoft windows pc, and other unix an mkv file is a digital container for multimedia files that can be called a matroska file. You can use to design, split, edit, mux, demux, merge, extract, or inspect matroska files. As soon as the setup finished, I opened the 'mkvmerge GUI' shortcut from my desktop. At a first look, the interface seems quite intuitive, so my first action was to open an MKV file, select an option, and see the result. I went to the program interface at the 'Input' tab and used the 'Add' button (it also works using the 'drag and drop' method.

If you only ever upgrade and want to keep the GUI, you'll have to install the 'mkvtoolnix-gui' package manually once. Once its installed, subsequent upgrades will upgrade both packages, of course.
